Magical Lapland

I

Magical lapland in the Arctic Cirlcle is blessed with natural beauty surrounded by snow & a polar night. I was not lucky again to catch the Northern lights as it was very cloudy but I did get to see the Polar nights.

Polar night or ” kaamos” in Finnish is seen against the horizon . The abundance of snow against the light becomes a bluish tone. This is the result that in the Arctic Circle there is almost no daylight. When I was there is December the sunlight was at 10:30 AM and sets at 13:30 PM.

This natural phenomena of nature is called “blue moment” . You can catch this during the afternoon just before the sunsets, so yes at 13:30.

If you are a photography buff, you can walk around Rovaniemi and catch some wondeful moments of nature. It was not as cold when I was there. The Finnish, just like us Canadians are all well equiped when it comes to the cold and snow.
